Duchy of Eisen

The Duchy of Dimmeroch was granted to the Duke's ancestors by the Commodore of Darcos. The Duchy stretches from the Faded Forest in the North to the Horgen Hills in the south and east to Laughing Hollow. Dragongate Castle was considered a property of Darcos and not part of the Duchy.
Since the civil war, the Dukes of House Dimmeroch have expanded their domain somewhat. Dunbarton's Hill once reported to the Council of Merchants in Tarnauld, but the difficulty of traversing the Horgen Hills left the city magistrate no choice but to swear allegiance to Owlshead. Niall's Hold is a bit east of the Duchy's traditional border, but also answers to the Duke.
Conston's Hold, Niall's Hold and Dunbarton's Hill swear loyalty to the duke, and the ruins of the Hallerden Estate and the haunted manor are also considered part of the duchy. The elven Rindalros family also considers itself part of the duchy, although they have roots and ties to Laughing Hollow and the King of the Hollow.
The two Jendarri steddings, Olafstead and Kratys Freehold have not sworn loyalty to the Duke, but freely trade with the duchy. It is unknown if the duke will attempt to incorporate the steddings or leave them be. However, both send their young men and women to serve in the Owslhead Militia and are part of the militia's patrol circuit. The orc raids are serious enough that everyone does their part.
The return of Commodore Ulric Eisenhart posed many problems for the Duke, Malvynos at the time. As Commodore of Darcos, the Duke should have been beholden to the Commodore, except that at the time, the Commodore had yet to prove his title.
The creation of the Northern Kingdom upended everything. As Kings Justarin and Queen Rhonwen began uniting the city-states, Justarin's sister Adrianna became ambassador to the Laughing Vale. Malvynos and Adrianna bonded and eventually married. Since Duke Raylorn had no plans to father children, Malvynos was promised that his and Adrianna's child would be the next Duke of Hawkmoon, if he ceded the Laughing Vale to Ulric's son Wieland Eisenhart.
Thus the Duchy of Eisen was born.
