Poached Cloud Deer and Curry Buns

Poached cloud deer and curry buns is a sweet, spicy, and savory dish that can only be found among the vulpines, an ethnic group of the kitsune species living on Ethor Island. This recipe has been around for a few centuries since it was first developed by Makoto Kou some 1,000 years ago to help feed the injured, poor, and homeless during the first outbreak of the Realm of Nightmares.

Components and tools

While the typical ingredients are known to the public of Ethor Island, the correct measurements are unknown.
Poached Cloud Deer
Poached cloud deer meatballs are made from cloud deer, breadcrumbs, eggs, spices, butter, and olive oil.
Curry Buns
Curry buns are extremely complicated to make and the recipe is closely guarded by Makoto's descendants.

Participants

Makoto's descendants will begin making the meal the day before the fox moon so they can have plenty prepared for the injured and those unable to defend themselves. It is a tradition that Makoto's descendants are present unless they are detained via injury, being part of the Champions, or some other legal restriction.

Observance

About a week prior to the fox moon, Makoto's descendants will venture out to hunt cloud deer or gather ingredients from the various shops or farm animals on hand. Then, the day before the fox moon, they start preparing the food and cooking it. Once the food is made, they store it until the fox moon rises and then distribute it to those in need within the Sacred Shelter located underneath the island. By the next morning, the remaining food is brought to those hospitalized from the battle as a thank-you for their service.   There has been one family member who knows the recipe that left Ethor Island and makes a profit off selling the meal four times a month in Kvia. The family is disgusted by this family member's betrayal. After the fall, it is unknown if this member is still alive, let alone still making the meal for those they are sheltered with.
