Personal history
Thorun Galavnik was born the second son of the king of Galavnaya. While he was educated and trained to be active in warfare and politics, he was not expected to gain the throne, as his elder brother, Basil was hale, healthy and favored among both political allies and the common people. When Geruff Hadleigh II died in 1607 and his son, Geoffrey Hadleigh-Morgan ascended to the throne of Chereladi, long a Galavnayan ally, Thorun vocally pressed his brother, now King Basil to take back some of the disputed lands between Galavnaya and Chereladi. Thorun openly disparaged the weakness of Chereladi's young new king and his apparent dependence on his bride, Queen Marina of Qense. The border disputes between Galavnaya and Chereladi led to weakness along Chereladi's border with Kargasa, resulting in the hurried unification of the The Federated Merchants of Kargasa and additional attacks along the Chereladian border.
King Geoffrey reached out to King Basil in an attempt at brokering a peace treaty. They agreed to meet in Faerston Castle on the 17th of March, 1610.
