The lost Fromage

A majority of the awoken speak a mix of English, Russian, or Serbian. However the origin of the languages in Awoken is sadly unknown but assumed to be from the forgotten era as many ancient texts are still readable by awoken. However many languages were lost, including the strange and mysterious French.

History and Discovery

While the names of the awoken languages have been recovered from writings of the forgotten era. French continued to elude them for a time till they came across an ancient structure with a sign reading "Omelette Du Fromage". Inside the awoken explorers recovered several other artifacts only of historical import.

Awoken Theory

While the awoken knew what an omelets was, the other word in the sentence was of serious question. Eventually, they decided that the word Fromage must be an animal of some sort. The only question was what sort of animal could it possibly be? One of the other artifacts recovered from the structure was a strange bag, too small for any practical use and made of sparkling leather. They came to the conclusion that this bag must be made from the hide of the Fromage.
