The Weave
The Second, "Mundane" Layer of Reality
According to Layer Theory of Dimensional Cosmology, the Weave is the common name for the second layer of reality, also known as the Material or Mundane Layer. It is the layer we humanoids are most familiar with: the layer of matter and energy, like stone, soil, water, flesh, bone, air and fire. It falls below the Arcane layer, and above the Spective, Interesoteric & (still theoretical) Intermultiversial layer.
Class II Worlds
About 8% of known planes in the Known Universe intersect The Weave, designated by the @dayb as Class II+ worlds.
While life does exist on Class II planes (those with only Material & Arcane layers), it is generally considered necessary for a plane to be Class III+ (also intersects the Spective Layer of reality) to produce sapient species; native species of Class II planes rarely progress beyond basic tool-making. Indeed, the vast majority of Mundane Planes are barren, uninhabited flats of stone or liquid, some only a few kilometres wide, if that.
