Mardin Empire
Located in what is now the Haunted Wasteland, the Mardin Empire was the dominant government throughout Southern Lamera from 0 CY to 560 CY. It was one of the most well-documented dynasties in the history of the Uthman.
The Mardin Empire was known for its efficiency in ruling such a large amount of controlled land, its extensive infrastructure projects, and its draconian legal codes. The Mardin High Magi were all powerful wizards who often used a dark magic that would defile the earth around them to make their spells more powerful. During their decline, these defiler wizards would turn to potent narcotics to fill the power void as their once fertile homelands were reduced to an arid wasteland.
The last of the High Magi was executed by a peasant uprising, led by the then-Incarnate, The Prophet. Now, many of the old ruins of Mardin cities lay buried in the sands of the Haunted Wasteland, crawling with undead or worse.
Structure
The High Magus was the absolute ruler of the Mardin Empire. A group of thirteen powerful wizards known as the High Council were charged with the administration of the High Magus' edicts.
