Haunted Wasteland

The Haunted Wasteland is a rocky desert on the coast of Uthmar . It was not formed by natural means, instead by the blighting magics of the Mardin Empire. The desert hides cities buried in the sands said to hold many treasures... and long-dead horrors.

Geography

The Haunted Wasteland dominates the western half of Uthmar. The desert once contained the heart of the mighty Mardin Empire and had several rivers that ran through it. The desert is roughly 100 feet below sea level, sloping at a gradual decline over 10 miles.

Fauna & Flora

Small rodents and reptiles are a few of the animals who had adapted to life in this desert. Also numerous are arachnids and insects, rabbits, weasels, toads, and vultures. Cacti are the most predominant plant-life in the harsh region.
The ancient cities are largely avoided due to their rumored undead populations.
