Aether Charge Potion

Article Contents

Alchemiche dr Irrelith is a company based out of the empire of the same name that primarily makes combat potions. One of their products is a potion that charges the body with a portion of Aether, something that is extraordinarily useful to mages, but can also be dangerous to use.

When this potion was being developed, a way was needed to distribute Aether around the body quickly and there also needed to be a large amount of Mana to stabilize the aether. To solve these problems, sodium carbonate was used because it can store large amounts of aether and is readily soluble in water. Sodium chloride was also added because it can distribute magic around the body quickly after consumption. These two ingredients were then added to a solution of mostly heavy water, which prevents the potion from losing its charge. The glass of the container is made from fused quartz, which also aids in keeping the aether contained.

The taste of this potion is rightfully described as being unforgivingly salty and bitter, but, it charges the body with something it normally doesn't have, giving access to the ability to cast incredibly powerful magics for a short time, either until the aether naturally leaves the body, or it is all used.

The side effects from this potion are usually minor and temporary. The problems don't start to happen unles the user drinks a potion and doesn't use all the Aether. This magical energy has to go somewhere and do something. If left unused after consumption, that somewhere is going to be the body, and that something can be a variety of chaotic things.

"The label isn't wrong...This stuff's chaotic and really strange stuff can happen! One time I drank a few of these potions before a fight... then I grew cat ears and a tail. My ears didn't turn into cats ears, I like, literally grew a whole other set!

Do you have any idea how wierd that ended up being? Also, it took me summoning Xana to get them removed!"
