Peace Overlooked

This short-lived conflict occured when the Vesirian remnant hit land in the new world at the same time and place as another small human faction, the Karstatians, who revered Karstati, Aviri of the sky. A spring of freshwater near the landing site immediately drew the attention of both groups, and they prepared to fight for the resource, neither side having more than one hundred soldiers.
The Vesirians, confident the spring would be theirs due to their allegiance to Vesir, stood ready to fight when someone shouted that they had found another spring. No longer having reason to fight, both sides reluctantly withdrew and made their separate camps.
That same evening, the leaders of each faction parleyed and made a pact that next time they had a conflict of interest, they would seek more peaceable solutions before starting any such conflict again. They appreciated the irony that the followers of Aviri who could control water should fight together over one spring as if there were no other way to get the water they needed. There were abundant resources before them, and plenty of room for both peoples to succeed. This pact grew into an alliance that would serve them well in the years ahead.

95 - 113 soldiers on each side, armed with crude swords, bows, and slings.

Outcome

The Vesirian-Karstatian pact enabled them to ward off other factions and lay the foundations for a successful civilization in the new world.

Aftermath

The two factions eventually intermarried, resulting in healthy bloodlines and hardy offspring. Though they remained religiously distinct, they also managed near-perfect harmony with each other, and eventually founded the first human city-state in the new world.

Legacy

The story of Peace Overlooked was told for generations, to teach following generations that conflict is often unnecessary, and that kinship is to be preferred over wartime glory.
