Jette Isolde

The legendary mauren mercenary. Prior to her rise to fame, the mauren were seen as a vastly inferior race of the Federation, with folks believing that they are good for little more than sex work or the mundane professions. That all started to change when the scarred vagrant, since christened Jette Isolde by a humble human man who took her in. With the scar carved over her right eye from a battle for right of leadership back on Nekmundis, Jette stepped into the world, taking on local mercenary work and building up her funds. Her already battle-hardened body did her a great service in this field of work, and as her notoriety grew, bigger and increasingly more dangerous jobs were pushed her way.
Over time, her original name was lost, and on contracts, she was simply referred to as Isolde. After a caring family took her in and provided her a safehouse, she was officially given a new name, which is the one she's used since.
She had a flawless record until one mission got botched by a rebellion hacker tracking her team's movements through the Federation standard always-on tracking devices on the team's weapons and equipment. This failed mission cost her the team and her left arm. Somehow, she got back to her ship and made it back to a hospital in (mostly) one piece. If she had recovered her arm from the field, she would be all good, but considering it was essentially vaporized, there was nothing that she could have done.
While recovering, she was approached by Markus Friedhelm, who offered her a chance for a new arm (as well as the chance to found a merc liaison company who would build and supply their own equipment). Sure, she didn't exactly trust him, but the offer was one she just couldn't refuse.. Losing her arm was disheartening for her, after all. After gaining this mechanical arm, she felt more alive and, with no small amount of intrigue, accepted the offer, thus starting Freelance™.

Couple years after arriving at Asayuma and finding no home, no quarter, she steals away in the steerage compartment of an offworld-bound shuttle. She then spends a long while drifting through the stars(Drifter(Wanderer)).

She keeps drifting for a while yet, but at age 26 she falls into criminal behaviors, specifically thievery. Qualification? 9(6 3 +1 -1 previous career) qualifies. She gains Deception, Recon, Athletics, Gun Combat, Stealth, and Streetwise as her basic training. She also trains up in Electronics. 3(1 1 +1) fails survival. Mishap? 2: Arrested. You must take the Prisoner career in your next term.
At the age of 30, she's imprisoned for attempting to steal from the wrong crowd. Parole threshold(1d6+4): 6. She gains Athletics, Deception, Profession, Streetwise, Melee(unarmed), and Persuade as basic training. She opts not to rock the boat, and attempts to just do her time as an Inmate. For her time, she gains Athletics(strength). Survival? 8(5 3) survives. Event? 11(6 5) The warden takes an interest in your case. Reduce your Parole Threshold by -2.
