Founded by a human businessman, Markus Friedhelm, and Jette Isolde, a mauren mercenary. The mercenary came to the businessman with the concept of a company that wouldn't use the Federation Industries tracking devices, after a mercenary contract was botched by the rebel targets tracking her movements by hacking the Federation database and pinging all nearby active devices.
While initially, Freelance would only focus on equipment manufacturing, they would gradually pivot towards becoming a mercenary liaison service in equal measure, brokering contracts with wanting individuals, and supplying the gear to be used in-mission to the mercenaries they bring into contact with the client.
