Arcanara

Arcanara is an underground kingdom located on the eastern side of Vitallia’s mainland. It consists of underground cities that connect through a vast network of tunnels. Arcanara is inhabited by Maor Elves who labor in the cities but also roam the surface above their kingdom to defend the surrounding premises. The first residents of Arcanara were led to the underground kingdom by An-Khaless-Na, an Amar who sought to reach the Crater’s essence by digging through the earth.

Campaigning in Arcanara

Arcanara is an unapproachable kingdom. One must gain access from an authority figure of the kingdom to enter. Uninvited guests are most of the time repelled or even kept as slaves to work in the underground tunnels. The cities of Arcanara are few and connected through warrens. Traveling through the warrens is extremely dangerous due to the vast number of Amber Seals that hatch monsters under the earth.

The People of Arcanara

The Antara are people raised in underground societies. They live and operate under the command of a supreme leader who is the equivalent of a god. They are raised under strict laws where crime and revolt are punishable by death or worse. The Antara spend their long days laboring for a collective purpose. They dig tunnels to fuel their kingdom with energy harvested directly by the fragments of the meteor that gave birth to Vitallia. Inner & Outer Conflicts Arcanara’s conflicts mostly affect its interior. The Antara face many challenges regarding the demanding work of tunneling, fighting monsters under the earth, and fighting the rebels that wish to overthrow the kingdom’s regime. In the past, other kingdoms have attempted to overthrow Arcanara’s leadership but failed and suffered significant repercussions.

The Dangers of Arcanara

Arcanara is filled with dangers. Outsiders may gain limited access to the kingdom but there is nothing to guarantee for their safety, or even return to the surface. Endless monsters roam the tunnels and the large warrens between the cities, making traveling even more dangerous for those who lack the skills to travel in such places. Additionally, the excavations for the meteoric fragments have resulted in the poisoning and death of many workers, and the essence’s radiations are considered dangerous to all those who dwell in the underground.
