These are the Fungi of Vita'ul.
This branch of life is specialized in breaking down non-living organic matter, becoming the early scavengers of Vita'ul. These primarely asexually reproducing creatures decomose these non-living organic matter to put it back into into the ecosystem to allow for it to be used by other organisms. They early on they fed primarly on early algee that would fall from the surface of the ocean as they settled on the ocean floor in the darkness.
They would develop at this stage a bioluminessence with the use of magic to cause small amount of light along the sea floor. This trait continues on into all Fungi of Vita'ul. This trait orginally evolved to daize those of the Animal kingdom to scare away early animals from consuming them in the black void of the oceans.
