Free City of Homath (Home-eth)

Located on the shores of the Gulf of Homath, the Free City of Homath is a captivating destination that seamlessly blends art, history, and innovation. This city of the youngest and smallest four on Perentha is strategically located to the right of the Frostback Mountains. This not only shields the dock-based city from external troubles but also ensures the safety of its residents.   The Free City of Homath is divided into three distinct districts - Trade, Hearth, and Demi. Each district has a unique character and charm, offering visitors diverse experiences. The Trade district is bustling with activity, offering a glimpse into the city's thriving economy. The Demi district, on the other hand, is a melting pot of culture, with its vibrant music scene and street performers. The Hearth district is all about food and community, with its bustling markets and community events. It's the perfect place to explore and experience the city's culinary delights while mingling with locals and immersing themselves in the vibrant community spirit.   Despite being separated from most of the continent by the Frostback Mountains, the Free City of Homath is not immune to problems. While many of the troubles that plague other settlements never reach Homath, the city has had a reasonably colourful past. Civil wars, assassinations, and sabotage were common occurrences in the city's early days. Though most of these have ceased, the three districts keep the city split. Nevertheless, the city's forward-thinking leadership and the resilience of its people have ensured that it continues to thrive and remain a popular tourist destination.   Overall, Homath's unique blend of tradition and innovation beckons adventurers, artists, and scholars from near and far to immerse themselves in the city's remarkable tapestry. It becomes a beacon of dreams and possibilities, balancing its rich history, artistic soul, and progressive inclinations.

Government

The council, consisting of the Klarden, Lambert, and Odina families, is responsible for making collective decisions on how the city of Homath will change and grow. They hold regular meetings to discuss the city's issues and future plans, and each family has an equal say in the decisions made. The council oversees everything from trade and commerce to public works, safety, and security. Their responsibilities include maintaining the city's infrastructure, such as roads and bridges, ensuring a steady supply of goods and services, and protecting the citizens from harm. One of the council's crucial roles is to ensure that the city remains prosperous and balanced.   The council works towards creating an environment that fosters growth and development while still maintaining the city's traditions and culture. They also strive to maintain harmony between the different districts and ensure that all citizens are treated fairly and justly.   The Klarden Family, an old Dwarven trading family, is in charge of the trade district. They were once a household name in Harrowmount, but after a somewhat mysterious court case, they abandoned all operations and set up shop in Perentha. The current head of the family, Norma Klarden, rules the family and district with only profit in mind, which has caused recent unrest in the community.   The Lambert Family maintains the Hearth district, tied to Homath's days as a village. Through generations, they have worked the land around Homath and relied on the goods produced to build their agricultural empire. The current family head is Donato Lambert. He is a young and idealistic man with big dreams of expanding his family's business and uniting Homath one day. His district loves him, and he often interacts with the citizens on the streets.   The Odina Clan oversees the Demi District, a community of different demi-humans from all over Vilra-Shal. The district was once a site of conflict within the city's walls, but now it's a place where all demi-humans can walk and live without fear of persecution. The current clan head is Asfet Zahiri, and their ruling of the district has seen more and more humans take up residence inside the community. Asfet can usually be found in the clan's main hall, always ready to greet and trade any information one can provide.
