Personal history

Born to two nobles within the Holandian city of Chesa, Ferdinand had a simple life growing up. His parents owned one of the major grain refining and manufacturing companies that kept the city fed. However, when Ferdinand was a teenager, his parents were killed in an accident revolving around mistaken identity. This left all of their assets in the hand of Ferdinand.

The Feind

After many years, Ferdinand found himself going to a local University, content to live of his parent's wealth for the rest of his life. Late at night, he along with some of his friends broke into one of the plants to steal some ale, however, a candle got knocked into, and the place burnt to the ground. All got out, except Ferdinand, who fell into a large vat of grain. As he sunk into the vat, choking on the smoke and other particles, he heard a voice in his head, offering assistance. He Accepted.

He found himself outside of the factory, looking at a shorter fatter man, who introduced himself as Konkazu. In return for the saving of his life, Konkazu stated that Ferdinand was to assist him in anything he needed. After that day, he would strangely get cravings for grain, which could never be satiated. He soon learned that he was now under the service of some Feind. This compulsion, along with the loss of a major factory, led to Ferdinands financial ruin, where he would travel East to find any sort of work that could

Joining the Travelling Tavern Adventuring Party

Eventually he found his way to Waterdeep, and met up with two other travelling adventurers, Kantrix T'an Gaell and Dean Ningyan. They did a few odd jobs together, culminating with them being hired to find a kidnapped friend, and their reward was the Trollskull Tavern. Within the Tavern, Ferdinand was most skilled at making various different alcoholic drinks, with his infamous bread ale.

Hatred of Konkazu

During the first Siege of Waterdeep (see The Tang Conflict), the party needed to flee. During this, a House nearly fell on and killed Kantrix T'an Gaell. They were saved by Konkazu, where Ferdinand needed to make a deal with him. In return, Ferdinand needed to offer a show. He did not know what this would entail. After a few weeks on the road, Konkazu showed himself to the entire party and brought forth an apparition of Kantrix T'an Gaell's Wife and Daughter. They were forced to kill them both, and Konkazu got his show. This only compounded the hatred that Ferdinand felt for his position, now amplified by the grief and anger the rest of the party felt.
A few weeks later, on a return trip to Chesa, Ferdinand saw Konkazu one more time, sitting at the same place they met. Here, Ferdinand made the internal commitment, that he will kill this Feind.

Killing Konkazu

After the battle of Waterdeep, and in noticing that Kantrix T'an Gaell was not in the city as they said they would be, Ferdinand almost knew what had happened. Konkazu had taken them as well. With this fact, and the still burning hatred, the party traveled to the plane of Gehenna to kill him, and save their friend. Once they reached his palace, and Konkazu knew of their intentions, Ferdinand felt his power slipping. He could almost taste the grain of the vat again. However, a flash of light appeared in his eyes, and he found himself face-to-face with the god Illmater. He used his power to restore Ferdinand's Power until Konkazu was defeated. Once he was dead, they saved Kantrix and their Daugther and returned to Waterdeep.
