Ebensap

Ebensap is a black concoction used to cure White Plague. It was invented after the Invasion of Veyetræll, by some Priests of the Feather who had access to the Celestial sap from the tree of Sylgadrig.
The discovery happened by chance. It was thought that a raven, whom represents the intersection between Spirit and Life according to the Sylgadic Pantheon, would bring back to life the tainted blood of the sick. Every part of the raven was tested, but its blood came as an evident solution.
It was harder to come by before the opening of The Living Temple's medicine wing after the discovery of that tree's magical properties. As it comes from the same family as Sylgadrig, it works albeit the recovery period is longer. The innovation was to propagate the saplings from the Living Temple to other parts of Veyetræll, in order to make the medicine more widely available.

Utility

The Ebensap is transfused through the blood. It taints very slowly, and the blood becomes greyer with time, changing color in an uniform way.

Manufacturing

Contrary to popular belief, the preparation involves no magical ability. The sap in itself is magical, so when it infuses in the raven's blood, it becomes black and adopts blood-darkening properties.
