The Living Temple
The Living Temple is the largest temple in all of Droshos. A large Humtree with a few extensions, it is grown and built on the Taproot, where workers from the Gopher caste gather to harvest Celestial sap.
Alterations
Being dedicated to Poyas, god of Life, the Living Temple has also a large extension to heal the sick and wounded that was built long after the Invasion. Until very recently, there was no cure for the White Plague, where those infected lose the pigmentation in their blood and get a ghostly look. It was found that sap and the blood of a raven can be brewed into a concoction that becomes black and is called Ebensap. It was thought that it could only be produced with pure sap from the Taproot, which competed with the ever-existing market for the hallucinogenic material, but it was recently found that sap from the tree that forms The Living Temple works as well.
Architecture
The main spire of the Living Temple is in fact a huge hollow tree, which still lives. The extension was hastily built to accommodate the sick, but is still very beautiful as Droshos has a rich architectural heritage.
History
It is thought that the tree was grown thousands of years ago, as a sapling of Sylgadrig. The tree is naturally hollow, so it made a perfect temple to worship the god Poyas.
People gathered there to profit from the Taproot and its sap, and that is what made it into the largest city in all of the Isle of Sylgadrig, Droshos.
