Lucianus was born in 1528, to King Audwin Freightway and Queen Loretta Payne. He was born a twin, with his brother being Edmarus Freightway. He was an angry and moody child, and he grew up loving combat and hunting, while his brother loved books and reading, like his father. He was always under the impression he would become King, as he was technically born a few minutes before his twin brother. When he was 14, his father declared that his brother would be King when they grow up, much to Lucianus's chagrin. He felt betrayed and bitter, and it only got worse and worse. When he was 15, his grandfather's Hand of the King, Joffrey Lancaster, came to him with a proposition. Joffrey saw his father as an ungodly man, a terrible King. So he proposed that they simply cut him out of the picture, and Joffrey would see to it that Edmarus never became King. So in 1543, Lucianus planned an assassination. They had a party for his father for his 33rd birthday, and he made sure his father got very drunk. They then went off into the woods to hunt, just the two of them. Once they had walked for hours, and were very far from the city, Lucianus led his father to a very specific spot. He had men there that had been waiting with an owlbear carcass they had just killed that morning. He killed his father there, by slashing him across the chest multiple times, making it look like the owlbear killed him. Then, his men slashed his arm and put the owlbear next to them. They were found like this by the King's men, and the King was pronounced dead.King Nothing
When they got back, Edmarus was nowhere to be found. He was missing, without a trace. Thus started the unfortunate reign of Lucianus. Lucianus was a terrible King, who spent most of his time watching gladiator fights rather than lead. He was hated by the common people so much that they would commonly call him "King Nothing". He was King for three years, and in that time he made many bad decisions, such as legalizing brothels and pit fights. He was married to Barda Greyblood almost imediately, as her House is one of the biggest and most powerful in Petrea. This was a good decision, which he ruined by fathering many bastards with various women. This was made even worse because he did not just father children with prostitutes, he also had a bastard child with a travelling bard that came through the keep, and he even fathered a bastard with a Half-Orc servant girl. This was extremely insulting, and it formed a large rift between the Greybloods and the Freightways. He did have one legitimate child with his wife, a boy named Lukanus. He had began his reign due to Joffrey Lancaster, but Joffrey Lancaster soon realized he had made a grave mistake. As his faith in Lucianus began to wane, Lucianus noticed, and it wasn't long before, in 1545 Joffrey was beheaded under charges of being a traitor to the crown.Freightway Civil War
After Joffrey died, Lucianus's grandmother, Alycia Lancaster, found a note by Joffrey fessing up to the conspiracy. He explained that Edmarus was not dead, he was living in exile on an island off the coast of Coldhall. Alycia sent a small group to find him and bring him to Greystone, where she reunited with him. There, she was able to rally the Greybloods army, and march to Freightway. Lucianus accused his wife of consipiring with her family, and he had her thrown from the walls of Freightway, killing her. Along the way, the amry was able to gain the assistance of House Lancaster. They met no enemies until they reached the great walls of Freightway. Lucianus came out to negotiate with the army, and he stood upon the walls and spoke to his brother. He explained that he would kill his brother and crush all who oppose him, and offered his forgiveness to House Greyblood. While this was happening, one of the Greybloods shot him with an arrow, which struck him through the stomach and cause him to fall off the wall. And so in 1546, Lucianus died, and his reign was remembered as the worst of any King.Relationships
