Piuladaemon (Pain Imp)

Piuladaemons, sometimes called 'Pain Imps' (or Pain Freak, in certain circles), are a race of lesser demons created into the service of Sekra. Despite being denoted as a lesser demon, Pain Imps are considered the beloved children of Sekra. Their eerily gleeful demeanor is cherished by her faith, and they're often entrusted with missions that rely on sending them to seize or capture targets. Pain Imps often form wandering gangs or search parties, fully intent on apprehending whoever unfortunate enough to be marked by their client. Their eagerness to feel pain and doll it out also makes them none too stingy to any job that would require their service; they are thus one of the most common demons summoned into Veska, though their giddy demeanor and constant cackling makes them hard to tolerate.

Creation

Pain imps are typically created from sadists, masochists, or both. Being a lesser demon, the amount of energy required to craft them is very minuscule. Piuladaemons are among the most common demon under Sekra's rule, if only because they're the frequent end result of partaking in the Ultimate Ecstasy; suicide, in the service of Sekra. Those that commit suicide in a safe place while in Sekra's service often turn into Piuladaemons, where they're given the opportunity to feel pleasure and rapture from every sensation for all eternity. To some initiates of the Sekran faith, this is often seen as their own twisted form of heaven. But to those zealots, it is often seen as a lowest potential end result.

Notable Powers

Perhaps the most curious -- and dangerous part of the Pain Imps, is their ability to transfer pain through special metal rods that are driven into their body. Every pain imp has at least one metal rod staked into their flesh. By focusing on a particular subject, the Pain Imp may drive the stake into themselves to force that subject to feel the agony of being impaled, with none of the lethality. This makes gangs of Pain Imps dangerous; for they can debilitate their prey with this ability before taking them off to their client alive.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Piuladaemons are particularly gangly creatures. They stand no taller than three feet, and have a relatively hunched posture that often displays a few bony ridges within their spine. Their bodies are quite gangly and long, with long hands ending with fingers that are made almost entirely of bone that terminates into jagged claws. Among their most prominent features is the two jester-like appendages at the sides of their head; long, fleshy and seemingly pointless body parts that taper off to a thin point. These long appendages vary in length but typically span at least half the full length of a Piuladaemon's body. Some have such long head tendrils that they drag along the ground when they move.   They possess a long tail; another long appendages to their bizarre bodies. Their most prominent feature is their mouth; wide enough to span across their whole face, it is almost always caught in a rictus. They lack eyes.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The most curious form of sight the Pain Imp has is their ability to seek prey based on their current state of suffering. Though they lack eyes, Pain Imps have a field of view that allows them to detect any injured being around them. These injuries 'map out' the subject, allowing them to hone in on targets that suffer even the most minuscule of wounds.   The Piuladaemon is also capable of negating pain in themselves in favor of pleasure. This allows them to effectively work as search parties without fear of mistaking each other for the pain they inflict.   Piuladaemons are also capable of echolocation in the case of situations that require seeking an uninjured target; typically used to draw first blood before they can effectively seize their prey.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Pain Imps are peculiar in the sense that they often use nicknames that recall their particular favourite way of receiving or dolling out pain. Vepar would call himself 'Hackslash' for example. Cerax would call themselves 'Cutthroat'.
