Sekra

Sekra, The Goddess of Tears

Of the many Abyssal Lords, Sekra is easily among the most subtle of the bunch; and yet despite that, her faith remains one of the largest among the world of Veska. Her title; 'The Goddess of Tears', comes from her tendency to seek out those who are in great distress or sorrow, hunting and searching for those who are stricken or crippled by grief. Her offer is simple; to wipe away the tears of the victim and turn all that sorrow and pain into pleasure and bliss. While this offer does remain true on her end of the bargain, it always inevitably ends with the Ultimate Ecstasy; pleasure senses are greatly enhanced from all sources to those faithful to Sekra. The taste of a meal will always be divine, even if it were rotted, even the pain of being stabbed or shot would be replaced entirely by absolute pleasure. Unfortunately, this leads to dissensitization.   A cold numbness grows as they slowly lose their ability to feel; with every excess, their desire to feel more increases, until they finally reach for that final form of bliss that can only be reached once: Their death. While often a lengthy process, this long period fosters strength in the mortal soul, allowing Sekra to harness greater power than if the soul was simply harvested through more forward methods.

The Hanging City of Amora

Amora is a layer that is found looming just above a massive ocean below, built upon the side of a mountain. Churches and monuments are built throughout Amora, mockingly crafted to mimic the Church of Aine and Amelia, along with several shrines that are 'dedicated' to the Wild Gods of old. From time to time, chunks of this city fall and scatter into the endless ocean below, carrying thousands of inhabitants with the landslide. Despite that, Amora is simply rebuilt and restored back to its former glory within seconds of losing it. In Amora, Sekra hides within The Painted Palace, named such for Sekra's habit of keeping herself hidden within paintings on the walls of the palace.

Tenets of Faith

Sekra's faith is simple. It follows upon twin 'tenants' that are summarized with two simple words; Indulge, and Release.. This all builds up to the final 'tenant'. It is called the Ultimate Ecstasy; a rapturous bliss that is promised to all worshipers whom follow the Sekran faith. Should they indulge and take in their base desires, then they will soon find themselves into her arms, given joy and pleasure being imagining.   Indulge: states that limitations are subjective and should never be imposed under any circumstance. It states that all pleasure, all desire, should be enjoyed. There is no consequence in indulgence.   Release: Numbness does not mean harm; it simply means your weakness has left the body, allowing you to indulge in greater pleasures. All sensation becomes pleasure while under Sekra's care, from the carnal need of base desires, to the pain of burning and cuts. Everything becomes pleasure. Everything builds into rapture, until that person finally achieves the ultimate ecstasy.   The Ultimate Ecstasy: The Ultimate Ecstasy is not detailed to most followers from the beginning; it is simply doted as the most sublime feeling one could possibly hope to feel. An ecstasy beyond imagining, pleasure beyond dreaming. When pleasure and indulgence is overwhelmed by numbness and nothingness, those faithful to Sekra find themselves so desensitized that any source of pain or pleasure is reduced to nothing. There is only one thing that they can indulge in, that can only ever be felt once: Their death. Their suicide. Their soul is forfeit to Sekra, and they are given places among her demonic legion to serve the rest of their afterlife.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The goal of Sekra's faith is to quite simply, achieve the Ultimate Ecstasy. While this is seen as a final pleasure to be given through flagellating or taking in excess, it is actually a clever method Sekra employs to corrupt and despoil the souls of mortals. The rapture, along with the grief of becoming numb, leads to them being ripe candidates for powerful demons in the afterlife. Sekran faith simply claims to have a strong desire to indulge in anything they may desire, with no fear of pain or suffering.
