Stonehaven City Gates
The City Gates (or Gate Ward) are a bustling part of city, where traders line up to enter the city, sellers hawk their goods, and vendors sell various foods on a stick. The Gate ward is second only to market ward in daily activity. At these areas of entry, some level of inspection, inquiry, or taxation of merchants usually takes place, which creates the bustling and enterprising environment akin to the market place.
Stonehaven has four gate entry points, commonly referred to as South Gate, West Gate, River Gate, and Kings Gate. The river gate is the busiest of the four gates and features many nearby quays, and fish market stalls on both sides of the gates. South gate features many stables on both sides of the gate, inner and outer; as riding mounts and beasts of burden are not permitted by common folk within many of the City Wards.
