Sir Tristan Highsun

Tristan was a founding member of the Dawn Patrol, a band of adventurers of great renown. After the death of his friend and fellow adventurer, Cyric Goldenleaf, the remaining members retired and went their separate ways. Tristan traveled home to Breconary and soon afterward was summoned to Stonehaven at the request of the royal family. He served on the small council to Erdric Vauld, II, as an advisor for a number of years until the passing of the King.   Tristan left the palace shortly after, as a new small council was appointed by king's son, Erdric Liayne. While Tristan willingly follows the word and law of the new king, Liayne does not possess the temperament of his father, nor the faith in the Creators that his father displayed, and the City of Stonehaven has entered a new period of industry and decadence. He now serves at the chapel that he founded years ago.   Sir Tristan Highsun is a Paladin of the Lucid Scale who exemplifies the tenets of devotion. He dealt the killing blow to the black mage, Jestar Shamataar, and recovered an artifact of terrible power from the evil spell caster's grasp. His faith in the Lucid Scale was sufficient to banish the artifact to another planar location, thwarting the destruction of Verridia. The Dawn Patrol held no agenda beyond smiting evil wherever it might congregate; and so it was that while vanquishing evil with his comrades, Tristan recovered Elsydeon; the mighty holy sword of legend, from the lair of a pit fiend of Baator. Similarly, the paladin was also successful in retrieving the Helm of the Dragons after the destruction of the ancient Red Dragon known a Tyranthraxus.

"I'll draw five cards, ye' pansies!!", said Dora as she reached towards the old leather card case with her three remaining fingers.
Tristan sighed and pushed the deck of cards away from the drunken dwarf. "You will draw no cards", he said - his eyes never breaking from the stern glare of the one-eyed woman.
Tristan is an inspiring leader, a master swordsman and devout worshiper. As an adventurer, Tristan did not hold a position of authority amongst his companions, but they would often look to him for guidance or as a moral compass from which to navigate their course of action. He felt responsible for the safety of those he traveled with, and equally at fault for the death of his companions, Cyric and Dora. To this day, Tristan lights a candle for the fallen Sunari each morning at the Radiant Bastion; a means to remember and honor his friend.   Today, Tristan Highsun spends his days in duty to the people of the small settlement he founded, known as Breconary. He is the head of the church of the Lucid Scale and serves as leader to the small community.
