The First Scroll of The Vell

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Scroll has four main sections.    The first lays out the people involved in the agreement, at time of writing and in the future, as well as their backgrounds and reasons for entering into such an agreement. This part is known as The Context.    The second section goes into the nature of the agreement, what will be covered and what isn't and what will be decided later. This part is known as The Confines.    The third section is the meat of the agreement and includes diagrams of professional reporting structures and lays out rules for the new society they are creating. This is known as The Construct.    The fourth and final section is arguably the most important, and includes get-out clauses, plans for a dissolution and actions which would make a dissolution of this new society necessary. It also covers times at which any rules laid out in The Construct would be redundant. This is colloquially called "The Escape Plan", but is known as The Continuance.

History

The First Scroll of The Vell was the first document created by the three Rulers of the three villages which formed The Vell:
  • Etrop Ruler from Dorillin
  • Yanta Ruler from Velki, and
  • Lobos Ruler from Zaranta.
The scroll lays out in words, drawings and diagrams how the three villages will work together. In the early days, months and years of The Vell it was referred to almost daily, and is still the first thing that each Ruler of the settlement reads.

Significance

It holds great significance to the people of The Vell, but also to people across Vellikka as a whole, as it marks the first example of people from different villages and places sharing information and working together.   It is both a historical document, a record of an agreement and a symbol of the benefits of sharing information and working together.
