The Old Gods
A loose pantheon of gods which are worshiped by humans outside of the Barradin Empire. Many areas especially in the northern regions, which have not been conquered by the Empire still adhere to these gods.
The amount of followers of this religion have surged in recent years, due to the fact that the Cantraian Church has lost much of its influence.
Similar to its non-human counterparts, this religion pays respect to the Elder Spirits of Creation. Many of the deities are related to forces of nature. These deities often have a strong personality and there are many stories about their exploits. In these stories, the gods do battle with Giants, Dragons and other mythical beings, as well as chronicle the birth and death of some of them. Most of these stories are not written, but instead passed down to new generations in the form of oral tradition. As a result, the stories can vary wildly from place to place.
Not one of the Gods is seen as more important than the others, as it is believed that all things, even the Gods themselves, must live in harmony, and that one cannot exist without the other.
