Vouric (vor-ick)

Vouri is the home land of the Vouric People, the Vouric people are very prideful and family oriented. they value their traditional culture and beliefs and will sternly protect those beliefs, even if it costs them their lives. This detication to their belief system has lead the vouric people to become very stubborn and determined, not given in no matter what kind of pressure is mounted upon them, the only people more stubborn then them are the Conshi.

Naming Traditions

Feminine names

female names are don't have many hard sounds to them, in addition their names are quite complex, comprising multiple sylibles. some common examples of female names are; Aolimorsu, Bazimeyfro, Forujalisom, Havialo, Momolisoa, Susaloisu, Zeabilisusu.

Masculine names

Hard sounds are common in male names and their names aren't as complicated as female names. common male names can be; AliKar, Cargi, Dendar, Hashkal, Karlik, Nomen, Tikkiv, Vedat, Zeytak.

Family names

when speaking a vouric name, the family name is always said first. Family names are often single sylibles, some examples are; Ail, Aom, Bir, Das, Eo, Gra, Mir, Tor. when speak with strangers or in a formal setting, vouric will use their family names.

Other names

In between the family name and the personal names are the noble names. when a Vouric comes of age, they are give their noble names by the elders of their viliages. noble names are often either animals, plants or other land features that the elders feel fit the child. some examples of full vouric names are Aom Deer Momolisoa or Das Creek Nomen

Major language groups and dialects

the vouric people mainly use two different dialect of the Gods tongues languages. the first is refered to as Vouric and the second is vouris. vouric is very hard with the consonants B,C,D,H,N,R,T and Z. When it comes to its vowels it over pronounces its O and E and it pronounces its A as AI. in addition their G sound like H. in contrast Vouris is a lot softer with its words, and with a tendence to blend their words together.

The Vouric are a very family and community oriented people, they are taught from a young age to respect each other and their elders. They hold many community events in order to strengthen the community ties.

Art & Architecture

carving is a common practice among the vouric people and viliages often have buildings dedicated to carvings made. these carving are abstract depiction of natural occurrences such animals or plants, they made durin an important time in that vouric's life, wether it be marriage, an achievment, a loss, or a major event has occurred such as a war or a natural disaster. architecture differs greatly from viliage to viliage, where one might be carved into tree like imagery and another will use more geometric shapes within their designs.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Each night, families will engage in what is call the connection, they share their day and what they've experiences and what their worryies are. soldiers or explorers that are away from their viliages will form small groups that they can engage in the connection with. each full moon the viliage will come together for a great feast, afterwards there will dances and games.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

when a child is born, they will be presented to the entire viliage and given their name. after the viliage will have a feast in honor of the new member of their community.

Coming of Age Rites

there are two main coming of age rites among the vouric, the first one is the first kill. The first kill is when the new hunters go out and track down their first game. after they've tracked and killed it, the viliage celebrates with a dance. the second is where the child finally is given their noble names.
