Isle of Leaves

Geography

The islet is a designated natural park that sits squarely in the northernmost fresh water lake. Once, when Ocumtit was its own powerful and independent state, it controlled the isle as a reserve to collect wild berries and birds.   Since then, its most distinctive feature is a continuous carpeting of invasive plants. One feature unique to sickle leaves is that they are capable of carrying single seeds great distances in sufficient wind. Through this means does it attain dominance in place far from their origin. Vines have spread over nearly every surface, creating a lush but overwhelming green blanket; draping over trees, rocks and a few collapsed buildings that adds a unique charm.

Localized Phenomena

Bad Air

This lonely island is known to emit a debilitating fog that causes disadvantage on death saving throws should anyone fall while on the land.   Pockets of this air can become trapped under the leaves' canopy. Should these traps be disturbed, a rush of misty gases will rise towards the sky. If combat is taking place when this happens:
add an extra 2d6 damage die to an attack. If that damage die lands on its maximum number, the other damage dice is upped to its maximum number.

Fauna & Flora

Wind Sickle: Thin, vine-like, non-flowering plant that can only grow by grasping around larger plant matter or man made structures. Although their stems are thin and spindly; it can grow as thick as a bearded bear's coat.     Birds: Various bird species of striking red, brilliant blue and bright yellow fly over the isle as a stopover when crossing between Salt Side and Dragonsgrave.
