Wood Elf

The most populous variety of Elf within The Kingdom of Vallanna, Wood Elves are reclusive in nature, seldom venturing beyond the borders of their woodland realms.
Most dwell in settlements hidden seemlessly among the forests of the land; their innate connection to nature and the fey compelling them to preserve as much of the natural elements of the forests as possible when building their homes. Wood Elves hunt game, gather food, and grow vegetables, and their skill and magic allow them to support themselves without the need for clearing and plowing land. They are talented artisans, crafting finely worked clothes and art objects.
The reclusive nature of the Wood Elves often translates into a distrust of outsiders, and non-elves in general. This does not mean they are actively hostile to those outside their communities, but to those interacting with them, Wood Elves may often seem aloof and dismissive.

Major language groups and dialects

Most Wood Elves speak Elvish as their first language, with some also learning the Sylvan language of the Fey. Many can speak Common as well as they speak Elvish, although some find it an unrefined language in comparison.
