Arrested and sentenced to serve hard time in The Crag for causing the accidental deaths of several people in a fire, started during a bar fight; Obadiah, a Dragonborn of advanced age, was in fact innocent, and taking the blame on behalf of his grandson, who he believed should not have to lose his future due to one drunken mistake.
This incarceration did not last long, however, as shortly after their arrival at The Crag, the crew of The Grinning Skull, Captain Smiles' ship effected a thrilling rescue of their captain, along with those chained to him.
