Crown Princess Sara (Sah - ra)

Crown Princess Sara Feywild

Princess Sara was the oldest child of King Velebor II and at least theoretically was his true heir despite the throne being taken with almost no resistance by her younger sister upon King Velebor's death. This has in some accounts been regarded as a usurpation, since crucially Princess Sara was never officially disinherited despite the many pressures which were frequently placed upon her father to do just that. Therefore upon his death she was, at least technically, the legitimate heir and the crown Princess. However, she was not present: her location was unknown and even her being alive was merely an assumption rather than a known fact. This, coupled with the fact that neither the people, the religious authorities, nor the nobility were inclined to object, she was passed over in the succession practically without objection.   In the summer of the year 1219 she attempted to take the throne by force using an army of demon worshippers and cultists, but this was thwarted and the Princess was killed in personal battle with Llywelyn Amberhide, Lia Galanodel, Lenora and Bhaldrum Feldsparr, with assistance from Llywelyn's then-fiancée Joseph Cassius Merca.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Sara was extremely tall, even by the standards of her family who have a tendency to imposing stature.

Identifying Characteristics

During her attack on the city of Illyria which led to her death, it was revealed that she could at will assume a pair of large bat-like and skeletal wings. Most believe this to have been a gift of the evil god Koraris whom she served in later life, but some of the more eccentric scholars in Illyria believe that she was in fact a fallen Aasimar, and that this proves The Royal House of Nerevarn were - and to the extent that some decendants exist, still are -  in fact truly descended from celestial beings via their ancient ancestor King Gabraeil.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Crown Princess Sara was an extremely welcome child, as indeed all first children of monarchs are since they secure the sucession. Showing great promise from a early age she was always extremely bright and quick to learn, although palace insiders were known to report a sharp temper and tendency to defiance which grew in line with her academic attainments. A sudden and dramatic rift with her father the King, for reasons and causes which were at the time unknown, resulted in her being exiled from The Kingdom of Nerevarn in 1199. Due to her extreme unpopularity with the people and the known rift between her and the popular King Velebor in the later years of his life, the throne was taken without objection by her younger sister Queen Dana II upon the death of their father. Her failure to send any objection to this, or indeed to even indicate her continued existence, led many to believe she was dead, although this later proved disastrously false.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

The reasons for the sudden rift between the Princess and her father have been a source of court gossip since the day it happened, but the rumors and hearsay have never settled into anything concrete and they remain speculation to this day. The only known facts are that one day the Princess was living as the heir apparent, spending her days primarily in the palace library in intensive study, and the next she was gone without trace. A warrant for her banishment and permanent exile was placed upon the Council table by her sister Dana with the King's seal already upon it, and she was never seen at court again. The rest of the oft-repeated details - the dead guards supposedly buried secretly the same morning her exile was announced; the broken and smashed pillars in the throne room hastily repaired by court mages; the death of two of the Kings direwolves and the three mysterious strangers who demanded to see Prince Henry the same night everything happened - have never been proved.  However, many believe she was discovered to have been worshipping evil gods in exchange for power and attempted a coup when her acts were discovered, but although she was defeated her father was unable to bring himself to order her death.  If this is true, it may explain the motivations for her attempt to take the throne years later.

History

Princess Sara approached Lord Silvari during her exile, when it became apparent from the declining health of her father King Velebor II that the throne would soon be passing to it's next occupant. She convinced him that her claim was the rightful one, and that her sister Dana would crack down upon certain of Lord Silvari's more 'creative' uses of taxation law if she were to inherit instead. The two began an affair which ended when they were both killed in Sara's attempt to take the throne.

Relationship Reasoning

From Lord Silvari's point of view, Princess Sara was a beautiful, powerful woman who flattered his ego and promised him money and influence. The plan was for Sara to take the throne, at which point the two would marry, making him King Consort. From Sara's perspective, Genori was a useful ally with a large personal army.

Shared Secrets

After The Adventuring Party of Nerevarn interfered with Sara's original plan and she was forced to quickly improvise, she used her skill in magic to disguise Silvari as Prince Henry and herself as Lethe Thornspire - Henry's then-wife - in order to take the city as the 'rightful' heir and consort. Had this succeeded, they would have ruled for a while as 'King Henry and Queen Consort Lethe' with Silvari operating as a puppet King for Sara, at which point the plan was for 'Henry' to formally forgive his sister-in-exile Sara, reaffirm her as the rightful Crown Princess, and then abdicate in her favour, at which point she would 'return from exile'.
