Zetticee, City of Commerce

The long and shallow coastal city of Zettic'tar boasts the most connected port in the world. Straddling the mouth of the Andora River, the city extends far along the coast and some up the banks. The central location of it makes it the perfect dock and waystation for merchant vessels. It's central location along the country's coast also allows it to easily facilitate land merchants and their needs.   Zechtikar is the city's patron deity and bless the city, they do. Even non-merchants worship her and give offerings. There aren't built temples to Zechtikar like other deities, but each merchant sees themself as a temple to the Lady of Coins.

Government

Being ran by the Mercantile Guild, the city runs efficiently all for good business. The government does not outlaw evil business as long as its regulated, the exception being slavery, which is outlawed entirely.

Defences

Manpower

A force of mercenaries and soldiers called Darbergy patrol the waters and train in government districts. The permanent force sits at 30,000 fighters, but this can be increased by another 20,000 in a month from surrounding areas. Led by General Ellias.

Ships

Several well-armed flotillas are active at any time, usually 5 in total. There are an additional 4 on standby. Led by Admiral Dandyel.

Industry & Trade

Trade is the biggest factor in its perpetuity and prolific population.

Districts

The districts are complicated. Higher up officials see them as easily interchanged to fit the new needs of commerce, housing, etc. Their broad sweeps affect people drastically. One day a citizen will wake up to find their housing is now under commercial instead of residential. This causes a migration across the city. In some bizarre cases, citizens only moved across the street. This districting hasn't changed for 60 years and doesn't look to update soon, being "future-proofed" by officials.   The main district types are commercial, residential, leisure (parks, etc.), and government where city services and official buildings are allowed.

Guilds and Factions

  • Mercantile Guild is the largest guild that runs the government of the country and city.
  • Thieves Guild comes next as the antithesis of the Mercantile Guild. They may assist those less fortunate, but they are by no means good.
  • Merchant's Accord is a start-up guild trying to rival the Mercantile Guild. They offer a more "sensible" approach that amounts to more business for them.
  • Pink Guild is the guild for prostitutes and brothels. They hold considerable sway and once went on strike. Their demands were met in a few hours.
  • Green Patrol is the faction to rival the mercenaries. Called Green Patrol for their bright green vests.
