Silverguard Organization in Uto Daeg | World Anvil

Silverguard

Tasked with peacekeeping in the Gold Coast, these elite guards are equal parts cleric, paladin, fighter, wizard. The order does indeed save and serve the peoples in the Gold Coast, and can be easily called upon in times of emergency, like an elite militia.

Structure

High Lord is highest title of the order. The High Lord must make the decisive actions, take orders from the surrounding lords and dukes who need protecting.   Next are Major Generals. These command battalions to patrol the areas, setting up camps along the wonderfully paved roads of the region.   Leftenants serve as body guards and commanding officers below Major Generals. These don't command their own men, but can command under their Major General's orders.   Sergeants are the most common rank in the service. These command a squad of twelve. A sergeant is responsible for their soldiers well-beings and will be held responsible if they are out of line.   The lowest "rank" are footpads. These soldiers rank from seasoned veterans to greenhorns.

Culture

The Silverguard receive high praise for being generally not rowdy or conceited. They are quick to turn the hammer of justice on their own people if order is broken, which the people of the Gold Coast appreciate. They are known to be kind to those around them, their silver visors never raising to promote anonymity.

Public Agenda

The Silverguard work to protect the save the peoples of the Gold Coast and their interests domestically. They set forth in battalions patrolling the roads and keeping every merchant safe from bandits. They set their goal as protection.

Assets

Their silver armor is more than just a namesake. Their silvered weapons pierce any apparition or resistant beasts. They also receive their pay in silver. Every battalion has at least a small herd of horses and various beasts of burden. The estimated combined value of the Silverguard is millions of gold.

History

Started in 220, 4E, the traditions and practices of the Silverguard are longer than that. They can be traced back to sometime in the middle of the third era. After being officially established, the Silverguard sought able-bodied men and women for payment in return. These mostly didn't see much action, just patrolling.    Once, around 1000, 4E an invading force of Paluchian Mulans descended from the mountains in the southwest. The city of Milay was frightfully close to collapse. The queen asked the Silverguard for help, and they arrived in a week's time to quell the siege and drive the Mulan back into the jungles. In a hundred years, the Silverguard were negotiating a peace and trade deals between the two kingdoms.
