A Provincial Squadron is a small, trained unit of fighters. Each ensemble makes up a tiny building block of a larger force, and are generally dispersed for security purposes or squabbles. Outside of the conflicts created by House Palatius in the Iacchan River Delta, these Squadrons are rarely assembled together. 
The standard Provincial Squadron consists of fourteen members.

• One arcane caster - most focus on damage/AOE spells to wipe out the largest number of foes at once, though some specialize in crowd-control or manipulating the battlefield to their advantage. They are generally trained for military tactics at whatever academy they attend (most are sourced from the Avena Monastery), and are thus the de facto squadron leader. 
• One medic - generally a cleric of the province's dominant faith. Depending on the province, harming the medic on a battlefield can be considered a war crime (even if no war has been officially declared). Punishment may result in either life imprisonment or death.
• Four specially trained knights - generally trained by other knights in the province or at the Avena Monastery.  
• Eight foot soldiers. They have gone through basic training and can hold their own in battle, but they aren't anything particularly special.
