Demographics
Where most cities are predominantly Human or Elven, the major settlements of Thur Nirkhum are primarily made up of Dwarves. Since they were born of the Coronet Highlands, they sought to make their homes in the nearby areas of the continent that were a bit less harsh.
Nurn Durahl's racial makeup is as follows:

Government
Since Nurn Durahl is the capital of the Thur Nirkhum Commonwealth, they very much fall under the Commonwealth ideal of government. All actions taken by the legislature are explicitly done for the common good of Nirkhumish people, and the people of Thur Nirkhum have the right to depose any representative who fails to uphold these ideals. This has been ingrained in tradition since the Temporan Genocide in CY 1286, in which acts of violence against dwarven peoples became so great that international sanctions had to be imposed upon the Temporan government.
Infrastructure
There are four major roads that spiral out from the Aurum District, all of which lead in various directions out of the city. These streets are the main hubs of Nirkhumish trade.
The Rotestraße moves south through the Rubin and Saphir Districts. Some of the greatest arts venues in Uthilith are along this road, including the Staatsoper Durahl.
The Blauerstraße heads west, connecting the ports many miles away to Nurn Durahl. This is one of the most significant trade roads in Thur Nirkhum.
The Grünestraße stretches to the east, serving as a central road for all of the small hamlets atop the Durahlian Plateau that were neither populated nor significant enough to be included in the world map.
The Gelbestraße, colloquially called the "Yellow Brick Road", is a road that crosses the entire continent of Thur Nirkhum - it slopes down the Durahlian Plateau, stretches through the Coronet Highlands, and makes its way to the city of Starkhammer.
Districts
Nurn Durahl is divided into six major districts, each of which directly serves a significant purpose.
The Aurum District is the oldest area of Nurn Durahl, in which all governmental proceedings are carried out. Chancellor Cortana the Candid and her immediate Kin (Kin Mossdeep) live in the central Castle, of which all Nurn Durahl spirals out from atop the Durahlian Plateau.
The Rubin District is considered the 'downtown' of Nurn Durahl, and can thus be considered the entertainment district. Dwarves originated the tradition of Musical Theater, and thus makes the Rubin District the most visited area of Thur Nirkhum by tourists on a yearly basis. Rubin also contains a significant amount of high-end shopping and restaurants for those visiting.
The Saphir District is the urban residential district of Nurn Durahl. It's one of the most densely populated areas in Thur Nirkhum - especially thanks to their adaptation of the Hressian Highdive - and is also home to the regional public university.
The Smaragd District is the suburban residential district of Nurn Durahl. Smaragd is divided into many distinct neighborhoods that effectively serve as communes, in which everyone who lives within contributes what they can to the common good.
The Diamant District is the upper-class residential district, where the wealthiest Kins reside. Nowhere else in Uthilith will you find such consistent, splendiferous architecture - but it costs an absolute fortune to live here.
The Argentum District is the newest of the six districts, and is the nightlife district. The Courtesan's Guild and Gambler's Guild are both centralized here, and their respective influence is respected throughout all of Thur Nirkhum.
Assets
Nurn Durahl has the second highest GDP in Thur Nirkhum, just behind the city of Starkhammer. This is primarily because Nurn Durahl has no definitive industry, while Starkhammer is one of the world's largest producers of weapons.
