Personal history
Cyril was born to to human members of the Tuesday Cult in CY 1647, as a part of an attempt at a Grand Ritual. They were attempting to create a mortal vessel to contain the soul of The City Council, so they (and several other members of the congregation) gathered beneath the town Obelisk as Cyril's mother went into labor. This bizarre form of birth didn't turn Cyril into a conduit, however - he merely became a many-eyed Aasimar and the present members of the Tuesday Cult went home disappointed.
Approximately one year after Cyril's birth, the Tuesday Cult chose his parents as the annual sacrifices from among their ranks to the City Council itself. Following their deaths, Cyril would be raised for the next seventeen years by Old Woman Jessup, a night hag who had taken up residence in northern Valenacht. It was under her watchful eye that Cyril learned the power to manipulate and cast his voice into the dreams of others, which would become his career when he became an adult.
In 1665, Cyril opened the Valenacht Dream Broadcast Station, an institution with the loving tagline "Valenacht's ONLY News Source!". With the exception of weekends, Cyril would broadcast the news to the entire town every evening.
In 1673, an incredibly handsome Wizard moved into town. From the moment that Cyril looked upon his perfect hair, perfect eyes, and perfect teeth... he had fallen in love. This wizard was Carlen the Arcanist, a transmutation wizard who specialized in the creation of magical artifacts.
Later that year, Carlen would build Cyril an arcane conduit that would allow for his Dream Broadcasting to reach an even larger audience (all the way to House Moor south of town). It would allow Cyril to manage his magical output in a more efficient manner, and the pair would go on their first date.
In 1679, Carlen became the primary Valen contact for the adventuring party known as The Killjoys, and Cyril would attempt to aid in their efforts as much as he could. Towards the end of that calendar year, he agreed to travel with Carlen, Dr. Wyndi Čeloscas, and the Killjoys to The Velvet Room, a prison deep within the plane of Carceri. With them, he helped with the effort to kill Igor, thus bringing the structure down.
