The Deep Ways
A series of caverns and tunnels beneath the surface of Esverde and Rusolte. Currently the dominion of the Caladore nations, the United Dwarven City-Forges, and other myriad subterranean life.
Geography
The Deep Ways were originally formed by natural lava tubes in the earliest eras of Urth. As the planet's tectonic activity settled, caverns and underground lakes formed following the recession of the lava which once coursed beneath the surface. The tunnels were further expanded and refined following the settlement of the deep ways by the various Dwarven clans, who built their settlements in the largest and most mineral-rich areas. Other lifeforms followed, and over the years flora and fauna unique to the deep ways has evolved in the darkness.
The largest settlements are mainly located beneath mountain ranges, while tunnels and passages span across the width and length of both Rusolte and Esverde. At this time it is unknown if Terrefore has any equivalent of the deep ways. No tunnels or caverns exist beneath Quetzon, beneath the surface of the entire region molten lave still fills the spaces underground.
