Elodar
Elodar is the God of knowledge, invention and industry, within the pantheon of theThe Civilized Gods. He is the patron of teachers, tinkerers and craftsmen. Prayers are said to him before each school day, after a beautiful fabric is carefully woven and when a creative solution just won't present itself. Elodar is depicted as a male Radashi in scholar's robes, often at a potter's wheel, forge or other craftsman's tool. His alchemical reagent is quicksilver.
Elodar is seen as the founder of civilization itself, having uplifted beasts into the sapient species of today. It is said that in his great workshop, every invention that has or will ever be invented sits, and that flashes of inspiration are brief glimpses into his holy realm. Just as a knife may be used to carve wood into a tool or stab someone in the neck, so to is Elodar seen as neither good no evil. Though most inventions and knowledge make life easier, he is considered no less responsible for the suffering they cause.
Elodar is seen as the rival to Bruton, with whom he has fought since creation. Elodar is close to Nashara and the two are sometimes said to be lovers. Ynara is said to secretly resent Elodar for the actions of his children against her and the natural world. Marith is a natural ally to Elodar, and the two are depicted in a close friendship in many tales.
