Marith
Marith is the god of the sea, trade and storms among the pantheon of the The Civilized Gods. He is the patron of sailors, merchants, and travelers. Prayers are said in his name before a maiden voyage, when a bartering session reaches a standstill and after the travelers aboard the Kalari caravan arrive unharmed. Marith is depicted as a fat male Radashi with a long unkempt beard and a beaming smile. He is pictured either at the helm of a ship or at the head of a great storm-cloud.
Marith is the god of safe passage, weather it be by land or sea. Since most travel is done in order to facilitate commerce, he encapsulates that within his sphere as well. It is by his will that a ship is either blown out to sea during a storm or arrives at port pristine. He is imagined to be a passionate fellow, quick to bursts of laughter or vengeful anger. He brings the bountiful rains and well as destructive thunderheads.
In mythology, Marith and Elodar are fast allies and friends, though the god of the sea remains neutral in the latter's feud with Bruton. He is husband to Ynara whom is sometimes pictured at his side. Among the gods, he is perhaps one of the closest toShivo for he sends many to her domain to be judged.
