The Nomadic Emirates of Fefiera

Claiming much of the Bloodstained Savannah as their own territory, the Nomadic Emirates of Fefiera are primarily an organization of Tabaxi tribes that call the savannah their home after arriving there during the Convergence.

Structure

The Nomadic Emirates are organized into several dozen loosely affiliated tribes. Each tribe is governed by an Emir, a usually patriarchal and hereditary position of direct leadership in the tribe. The Emir makes all of the decisions for the tribe and is also considered the tribes presiding spiritual authority, although the day to day affairs of the tribe's religious needs is left to the priests of the tribe.

Beneath the Emir are his sons, who are the princes of the tribes, they have direct authority defaulting to the oldest and the heir in the case that the Emir is either incapacitated or absent. Beyond them, the priests then have direct control of the tribe, following by the captain of the tribe's militia or fighters.

Public Agenda

Publicly the Emirates' goal is and always has been to reclaim the entirety of Fefiera, which they believe has belonged to them since their arrival during the convergence. However, for the past century the Emirates have been progressively less hostile to the coastal cities of the republic, and have in practice if not openly deferred to the republican government.

Assets

Comparatively speaking the Emirates are a relatively poor nation, primarily herdsmen by trade the assets and wealth of the Emirates are mostly livestock, and vary by tribe.

History

The history of the Emirates began long ago during the Age of Blood with the The Convergence when the Tabaxi crossed over into Unorrea from another plane. Alone and isolated in a world they did not know, the Tabaxi huddled together in the savannas of Fefiera where they crossed over to and reformed themselves into a Nomadic Tribal nation living off the land.

Tolerated, but never fully recognized by the Fefieran Empire the Emirates constantly harassed convoys and border towns for medical supplies, manufacturing goods and other resources the savannas could not provide for them. The lives of the Emirati changed forever when a Vrossekar Knight urged them to rise up in full rebellion against that empire. After years of fighting and dying, the Emirates were betrayed and given the choice to join the new Republic as little more than second class citizens, or face the noose as outlaws.

They chose the latter.

As a result diplomatic relations between the Sovereign Republic of Fefiera and the Emirate deteriorated to the point of war. Neither was welcome in the other's territory and to this day relations remain extremely hostile at best.

Demography and Population

All of the Emirati tribes are located within and throughout the Bloodstained Savanna. They are collected into small tribes of usually no more than a few hundred Emirati, with many of the tribes numbering much less, and while they are not fixed to a specific location (being nomads and all) they are widely spread throughout the grassland.

Territories

The Emirates claim territory all throughout the Bloodstained Savanna, the massive grassland that constitutes the interior of the Fefieran Continent. While this territory is contested by The Sovereign Republic of Fefiera it is largely held by the Emirates who attack on site anyone who they or another Emirate tribe has not given permission to cross the savanna. For the most part the Republic has no permanent settlements in the grassland.

Religion

Even though the Emirates have migrated (kind of against their will) to this new world, they have long since forgotten the traditions of their past and for the most part have adopted the religious beliefs of the land they have come to inhabit.

Foreign Relations

There are only two political organizations that the Emirates have constant enough contact with to even be considered for diplomatic relations. Further complicating the issue, the relations with these other organizations varies between tribes. As a general rule, relations with the Republic are hostile and relations with the Draconic Clans range from indifferent to friendly, with occasionally rare pockets of hostility.
