The Convergence

Having more or less conquered Unorrea, Maferath set about trying to conquer the multiverse by bringing all of the different material planes together in the Great Convergence. He was able to do so, but only for a limited time. Still, the effects of the Convergence are seen today by various races from different realms being present in ours.

And it came to pass that there came a great and terrible alignment of all the planes of the multiverse. And Maferath, having conquered the world and shrouded it in darkness, sought further to corrupt or bend Solun’s will and thus, with all of his might he wrought a great concurrence of the planes and thus entered into Unorrea Halflings, and Gnomes and Tabaxi and all manner of mortal creatures for good and evil. And moreover the world was filled with monsters and fiends who further laid destruction and murder to the children of Solun. And the Concurrence tired Maferath, wherefore he was wearied and rested for a season, thinking the world his for all time. And thus again, will the children of Solun see that all things throughout all time will be made to serve Him that created them.

  The centuries long war between Maferath the Destroyer and the Forces of Creation had come to a climax. Maferath had more or less conquered the world, the Forces of Creation were outmatched and the children of Solun had been conquered and overwhelmed. Maferath had conquered the world, and in his pride he tried to combine all of the creations of the multiverse in an event known as the Great Convergence. And, to the surprise of the Forces of Creation, he accomplished his goal for a short time and the world was suddenly filled with all manner of different creatures and species such as gnomes, tabaxi, haflings goliaths and more.
The effort took so much of Maferath's power that he was forced to withdraw from the world and rest, providing the Forces of Creation a much needed window of opportunity after being driven back for centuries.
