The Elven Ahwa
The Elven Ahwa, not to be confused with an elven ahwa, is the current ruler of the Nemelian Elves who subscribe to the Old Ways. While each Nemelian City state has their own ahwa, the city states are constantly fighting over dominance of one another adn the ahwa of the ruling city is proclaimed . The current ruling city state is Tuluk, and the current Elven Ahwa is the character known only as The Red Prince who claimed the title after usurping the throne from Saphryn's father.
Qualifications
The Elven people in ancient times, and those Elves still living The Old Ways today, believe that the Ahwa is chosen of the Gods, and this divine election is passed down through the eldest children.
Duties
The duties of the Ahwa vary depending on what the God command, but generally his primary duties are to act as an intermediary between the Whills of Solun and the people. He receives direction from the Gods on how the Elven people are to act, live and worship and he supplicates to the Gods on the people's behalf.
Accoutrements & Equipment
In ancient times, when Tuluk was last considered the ruling city of Nemelia under the Rule of Ahwa Fallingstar, the Ahwa was said to have borne a cloak of light blue feathers given to Ahwa Fallingstar's ancestors by the Great Eagle of Chaos. This cloak was lost when Lady Fallingstar left Tuluk to find the ancient island kingdom of Ribalba.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
The only time in history that the Ahwa has been removed was when The Red Prince deposed Saphryn's father nearly twenty years ago. The Red Prince convinced the majority of the people of Tuluk that her father was somehow a fraud and not chosen by the gods. Its not entirely clear how he accomplished this, although it is known that he used the organization know as The Shadows to help him murder the Ahwa and his family.
