Off the northwest coasts of southern equikora lies an island shadowed in mystery. Once the ancient home of an elven magocracy of blood mages, the island was cursed by the gods and its people destroyed. And some whisper the curse still remains. Dozens of ships have gone missing off of its shores, and those that don't return with tales of a massive sea monster and magical storms that tears ships apart and keep all who land on the island from leaving.
Ribalba is a large Island approximately 360 sq. miles, resting about 100 miles off the northwest coast of South Equikora. Historical records indicate the island is covered with a dense jungle populated with creatures unknown anywhere else in the world. Unfortunately much detail beyond that is pretty scarce. It would see that The Lords of Ribalba, the ancient rulers of the island, built their cities in a vast underground network of tunnels, cenotes and caverns, ruling the peasantry from beneath.
Furthermore, many ancient Ribalban prophesies recovered from ruins along the shoreline of South Equikora would seem to indicate there is a large volcano on the island. And many sailors have reported three islets, two of decent size off the western coasts of the island.
No actual accounting of the flora an fauna of Ribalba have ever been made, as money researchers, sailors and sometimes entire governments avoid the place at all costs. What can be assumed, given its location close to South Equikora and the reports of a dense jungle constituting the majority of the surface of the island, is that its fauna is consistent with that of other jungles known to us: namely fig and palm trees, several species of vine and fern. A rich spectrum of fauna can be expected alongside a large variety for flora. Including what several passing ships have described as large, monstrous lizards spotted along the shoreline.
Natural resources can only be estimated based on second had reports, but if a volcanoe is present, one can assume that raw minerals such as pumice as well as obsidian are available in large quantities. Most jungles would assume a healthy biome for vegetation and agriculture, although not all food sources would thrive in such an environment.
