Kanan the Barbarian, the First Knight of Cidon Kanan Unknown

The first of the Avatars of Creation, Kanan's name is known world wide and respected world wide and he is venerated by warriors of Unorrea with a reverence almost akin to a God.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Portraits of anyone from the Ages of Conflagrations or Heroes are all but non-existent. However artists have traditionally depicted Kanan as a tall man, rippling with muscle, with long black hair and deep brown eyes. His skin is generally depicted as being browned by the sun, even though tradition holds that he came from a Barbarian tribe in a colder climate.
In then end, nobody knows what he really looked like, but described above is the likeness generally accepted by the world.

He is most often depicted with a great sword, although what weapons he actually used are unknown.

Personal history

Little is known about Kanan and his life, and much less in known about his life before his call to become and Avatar of Creation. The Tome of Solun teaches us that he was a great warrior, and one can assume he was a man of righteous demeanor being elected to be the first of the Avatars chosen. Tradition also holds that he was involved in the selection of the other 11 Avatars of his time as well.
We know he lead his fellow Avatars and armies of mortals into battle against the forces of Maferath and was rarely defeated. He slew Kazus the First in single combat and he was present at the final conflict where Maferath was defeated. Beyond that his life is unknown, and next to nothing is recorded of his death or actions after the Creation Wars.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Responsible for leading the children of Solun to victory in over 30 skirmishes and battles with the forces of Maferath. Slew Kazus in single combat. Was chosen by Cidon to be the first Avatar of Creation in history.

Intellectual Characteristics

Tradition holds that Kanan was an accomplished leader even before being blessed with the Light of Creation. Scripts and Journals from the Age of Heroes depict encounters with him as "having a presence that could not be ignored..." and one such entry noted: "When Kanan spoke, you listened and regardless of your stature, be ye king or peasant, when Kanan called you answered."

Little is known about Kanan's hopes or dreams before his ascension to the Avatar ranks. After his ascension though it is clear by his recorded actions that Kanan wanted nothing more than to defeat Maferath and protect his fellow man from the evils of that fallen God.
