Captain Ixtab
Captain of the Adonis, Ixtab has been sailing the four seas for almost her entirely life, and more than the entire lives of most of her crew. Her experience in commanding a ship and traveling the sea is unmatched by almost anyone in the eastern hemisphere of Unorrea.
Mental characteristics
Born a commoner in her home village of Cukuoa, a fishing village on the eastern coasts of Nemelia, Ixtab grew up knowing that the sea sustained life and was fraught with adventure. As far back as she can remember she always wanted to sail the three seas and has been doing so now for nearly a century, half of which she has been commanding her own vessels on bareboat charters for various shipping companies. After receiving her cut of the treasure of the Fell Stones she purchased her own ship, the Adonis and has been sailing it for near to a year now.
Even though she was born a commoner among elves, her father was part of the Nemelian aristocracy, and so Ixtab bears a commonality with both worlds. She has the pale skin and brightly colored (green) eyes of a high elf, but proudly sports the jet black hair of her mother in flowing curls. Since the Fell Stones, she has taken to wearing brightly colored clothes of fine make, but nothing so fancy as to restrict her ability to move.
For almost a century she has been sailing up rivers and across seas. She started as a simple deck hand, moving her way up to a midshipmen after about five years. She then began as a low level officer, working for nearly twenty years through the ranks until she reached the rank of captain. Not owning her own ship and preferring a constant change of pace she worked bareboat charters as a freelance captain, moving from ship to ship after each voyage with a new crew each time. After taking another bareboat charter from one Davon Krebeaux to ferry his expedition up the Summervine, she was paid handsomely for her services, enough so that after a few more months of scraping and saving she was able to purchase her own sailing vessel and go into business for herself.
Personality Characteristics
On top of being able to keep an entire ship's worth of unruly crew in order, Ixtab is also and excellent singer, although she doesn't play an instrument herself. When in a relaxed state while standing, she often stands with her hands behind her back and considers it the most comfortable way to stand. When she speaks to members of her crew, she isn't so much arrogant as commanding. Life on the sea has taught her that any slip in her command ability with undermine her authority with her crew. At times this style of communication with slip into other aspects of her life, for which she immediately apologizes and attempts to correct it. when it comes to what she knows, Ixtab knows the sea and and there are few who know it better. She is familiar with all kinds of aquatic life both sentient and wild and can identify troublesome patters at sea days in advance.
Most of her wealth is tied up in the Adonis and it's crew, as far as liquid funds go she have a few hundred gold in a Red Beryl bank, and usually carries a couple dozen silver on her for incidentals.
