Dread Wall

The giant wall that marks the western border of Undinia goes southwest from Wraith Guard to The Thunder Obelisk, before turning south past The Black Ziggurat through Zegash's gate and Serpent Watch to Silent watch on the coast. The wall was originally constructed to protect from a threat from the West, though it's unclear which threat.

Might defence

The wall is a large solid granite construction over the lowlands of the west. 50 feet tall and 25 feet wide, 26 at the top on the outer making it harder to climb. On the outside of the wall is a long spiked moat, making climbing even more dangerous. Old ruined forts scattered the length but it is theorized they were even more during it's living use. The size indicated the possible help from giants to build.

The eternal guard

The wall and forts are manned by wraiths along the reach, with only the Wraith Guard having a living population. Each section seems to be controlled by a Wraith captain, with the Eternal General controlling from Zegash's Gate.

History

The history is mostly unknown, with the living having abandoned the majority long before the Era of Ages.

Forgotten Era

It is theorized that it was originally built to guard against the Western and northern barbarians, though the lack of more northern defenses implies it was more Western. Trade and communication obviously still happened as indicated by the large gate.   What is known is the demonic invasion that destroyed the Vedal outpost, left the wall intact.

Achient and Phervian eras

Mostly abandoned during this era, Dragon legionnaires did start patrolling in the later part of the Ancient era, with Phervian labs springing up around the wall, but most didn't last long.

Era of Ages

The Shadow Republic sent scouts to figure out what was the purpose of the wall, building a town at Wraith Guard seeing it was the only 'valuable' location. This supply point would come into a mutual agreement during the Blood Age when the town was sieged. Supplies were brought in via Silent Watch to the town by the wraiths. The wall as a whole became part of the Dictatorship of High Guard, with the Wraiths becoming a supply line in times of war.
