Eremiti (air-a-MEE-chee)
From the small, isolated island of Eremita, these hardy folk are known for their immense size and grim demeanor. They are untrusting, and some say untrustworthy, but can be found in coastal cities across the Golden Peninsula offering their services as sailiors. Nearly every ship, be it merchant or navy, pirate or privateer, has some Eremiti on board as deck hands-hands, often acting as first or second-mate or boatswain, if not captain themselves. In fact, despite Eremita's small size and population, there are more Eremiti capitans than Tankiskani or Grenzvolken. It is considered bad luck to sail without at least one Eremito on board, willing or no, though there are enough stories of Eremiti mutinying together on a ship and taking it themselves that they are never the majoraty. Because of this, they are constantly looking for new work, and can be found anywhere you can smell the sea.
