Mary is a Forest Elf raised as Princess Tersy's friend and aide. She has diplomat parents, so understands the relationships (or lack thereof) between races more so than most.
She joined the All-Races Classroom with Tersy, under Council Member Lucas's assistance.

Motivation
As a diplomat's daughter, Mary was one of the first teenagers to be asked to join the All-Races Classroom. As she is closest to the Forest Elves youngest princess, and slated to join her parents in their work as she grows up, she is a perfect candidate in helping to bring together various races towards a single goal. Provided she hasn't been tainted by princess Tersy's disposition to all non-Elves.
