The Highoak Woods
The Highoak Woods is a region of ancient wooded lands, home to many (intelligent) species.
All across the highoak woods, underground villages of the Fungifolk are located.
In the north, gnomes are found, living in the treetops.
Almost all intelligent species in the highoak woods use the messaging system from the Fungifolk while thinking this is the doing of The Nourisher.
Fauna & Flora
Deciduous trees, such as giant oaks and redwoods, have grown in the moderate maritime climate of this region since the Era of Chaos. The area is a great home for small and large game such as squirrels, rabbits and deer. This makes the area particularly interesting for predators such as linx and wolves. An abundance of bird species call the trees of this forest their home: owls, eagles, falcons and a collection of beautifully colored smaller singing birds.
History
The region was one of the most heavily fought during the end of the Era of Chaos, destroying most of the trees that had existed there for ages. Scattered underneath the woods are small reserves of Aeroresin, giving mysterious powers to some of the species.
