Summary:

A wandering dog searching across the whole of Japan for his lost master. Saburō Shōhei has relied only on his wits, his sense of smell, and his training as a shinobi to make it this far. His journey has been filled with danger, forbidden love, intrigue, and daring escapes. At least, that's what his dark, soulful eyes seem to say.
In reality, who knows why this dog wears black and carries a ninja's blade? His skills at least, however implausible, are real, and many an evildoer has been dispatched after a soft woof in the dark. Watch your back in the night, or carry treats, because Saburō Shōhei stalks the shadows.
