Summary

The eldest of Mōri Motonari's three daughters, and leader of the Mōri Ryōkawa. Mōri Takamoto is also the only of the three to keep her original family name, and it is expected that she will take leadership of the clan upon her mother's passing. Despite her position and connections, however, Takamoto has professed that she is far from secure in her ability to rule.
Though she is more physically skilled than her sister, Kikkawa Motoharu, and more disciplined than her other sibling, Kobayakawa Takakage, Takamoto does not excel in the use of ki or blade on a level equal to either of the other Ryōkawa respectively. She is aware of this, knows full well her shortcomings, and so has sought to pursue adaptability and leadership rather than raw strength. It is Takamoto's strategy to observe and learn an enemy's techniques, then carefully formulate a counter to them. This level-headed approach has served her well in arranged duels, but she is often at a loss when confronted with the chaos of a real battlefield.
Behind her approach to combat lies a certain sincerity and creativity that Mōri Motonari is thought to value over raw strength. It is known that Takamoto's mother believes that she can become a worthy leader to the clan and her sisters if given the proper direction, and that she works hard to live up to this destiny. Whether she will succeed and become the great ruler her mother desires or be surpassed by any of her many rivals remains yet to be seen.
