Askaenos

Servant of Mēn

Summary

An artificial, spheroid entity which first appeared through the Sightless Mirror in the Caves of Life. Askaenos immediately registered Oyama Hikari as its new user, presumably because she was the first intelligent entity it encountered. Its reason for passing through the mirror or purpose in finding a user remain unclear. The interlocking metal layers that make up its chassis are Lunarian synthetics. Askaenos itself, however, claims to be servant of "Mēn," an unknown entity.   Although obviously highly intelligent, Askaenos has no soul. It speaks with a smooth, masculine voice with no notable emotion to it. Askaenos' primary concern appears to be gathering and cataloging information on supernatural items and phenomena. That it registered with Oyama Hikari is fortunate, as the little treasure hunter unearths such artifacts with stunning regularity.   In addition to cataloguing and reciting information on the items it has encountered, Askaenos has also displayed the capability for analysis on a diverse set of materials, up to and including souls. Often, it will dispense a recommendation on how to act upon the information it has gathered, or how to collect further intelligence. These are delivered in the same flat professionalism as the rest of Askaenos' speech, but the recommendations do appear to have Hikari and her companions' best interests at heart.
